Biral, one of the leading manufacturers of high quality, reliable visibility and present weather sensors for the aviation market, announces today that it is in the final stages of testing a new fully integrated Automatic Weather Observation System (AWOS) instrument pack. This new ‘plug & play’ AWOS system will be fully ICAO compliant and will incorporate the latest state of the art sensors from class leading manufacturers as well as Biral’s own sensors.
The system will be available in multiple configurations to meet the needs of different sized airports and offer all of the measurement sensors required. In addition to the usual weather and visibility measurements, there will be options to measure cloud height, rainfall and thunderstorm (lightning) activity.
The instrument pack will be truly ‘plug & play’ with all of the sensors being fully integrated into a central data processing unit, allowing customers to simply add the software solution of their choice. Ruggedly constructed and rigorously tested, this new integrated AWOS instrument pack will offer high quality data from a very competitive package, whilst not being tied to a specific software package or vendor.
