BITUCHEM INTRODUCES NEW POROUS SURFACING AT LANDSCAPE SHOW 2015

30 Jul 2015

Hard landscaping product specialists Bituchem will be exhibiting at the Landscape Show this year to introduce the latest addition to its popular asphalt Natratex Cotswold range. The Gloucestershire based company has introduced a porous alternative to the material, known as Natratex Cotswold Porous.

This sustainable drainage system (SUDS) is designed to replicate the natural infiltration process of rainfall and eliminates the need for a conventional drainage system and exposed pipework. Laid on a porous receiving layer, the open-structured asphalt material allows water to permeate through the material into the ground, steadily finding its way to a natural watercourse.

Bituchem has completed its first successful application of the porous material at a recently opened car park at the Royal William Yard, Plymouth where approximately 2000sq.m of the porous material was applied to the ‘secret garden’ car park, giving both a practical and aesthetically pleasing finish to the site.

Bituchem’s Natratex Cotswold material has been specified for a large number of projects across the UK due to its durable qualities with a natural looking finish. Suitable for a wide range of applications, such as public parks, residential areas, public sector projects, university and school developments, the asphalt material can be supplied in a range of colours to complement or contrast with the colour scheme of the landscape

The Natratex Cotswold material was supplied in Buff to assist in the regeneration of Raphael Park in Romford, Essex. As part of a Heritage Funded Project, the material was specified to restore the park’s footpaths. The natural colouring of the buff aggregate blends into the natural surroundings of the park whilst providing a durable pathway for visitors.

The Bituchem team will also be on hand at the show to discuss its colourful and long-lasting Colourtex surfacing product. Available in red, green, blue or buff the vibrant material offers architect and specifiers the opportunity to be creative in the design of a new or existing landscape with the same durable qualities of a standard asphalt surface.

The versatile material is suitable for a variety of application and can be used to brighten up any area, including domestic or commercial driveways, pedestrian footpaths or school playgrounds. It can also save a significant time and money in applications such as safety routes or multi-use games areas as it can be used to highlight designated areas without the need for expensive markers.
