SENTINEL SHOWCASES ADVANCED VEHICLE SAFETY SOLUTIONS AT RWM 2015

14 Aug 2015

Visitors to the Sentinel Systems stand at this year’s RWM at the NEC Birmingham will be able to view its wide range of advanced safety products for municipal and waste management vehicles.

The company will be demonstrating its range of innovative vehicle safety systems including its award-winning Bike Hotspot cyclist protection system, reversing safety products, and cameras and recorders.

The Gloucestershire based company operates nationwide to provide unrivalled safety solutions for municipal, waste management and other large commercial vehicles that operate regularly in congested cities or towns. The systems are intelligently designed to provide protection and awareness for both the vehicle and other vulnerable road users when such large vehicles are manoeuvring.

David Paulson, Managing Director of Sentinel Systems, commented “RWM is a very important show for our business and our products. We have many solutions that can cover the whole range of vehicles owned by a municipality or waste management company, including RCVs, heavy tippers and even light vans. These particular vehicles operate most often in domestic and highly pedestrianised areas and can be seen as a major risk for other road users and we can offer a range of high-quality reliable solutions that can not only reduce this risk but also save many lives.”

Sentinel offers several camera solutions, including rear, side and forward facing to provide vehicle drivers with an improved visibility of a vehicle’s 360° surroundings, as well as many reversing and side-scanning detection systems to identify obstructions which could otherwise be missed within the vehicle’s blind spots. The company can offer customised packages of a number of these products to customers which can be tailored to the individual needs and specific safety requirements of each customer.

David Paulson added, “We understand that every fleet or vehicle will require different visual aids or detection systems due to its size or its particular operational commitments. All of our products can be combined to provide the ultimate system for individual customers so that all risk of avoidable accidents can be completely eliminated. We will be at the RWM to demonstrate to vehicle operators and managers how our systems can be combined to provide such a high level of safety.”

Sentinel Systems has had an excellent year so far having won several contracts across all vehicle types within the waste management industry. This year has also seen the company expand its expertise to Northern England and Scotland with the appointment of Marshall Fleming as its Sales Manager.  Marshall has extensive experience within the waste industry and will be permanently based near Edinburgh to ensure that all customer activity in the area is prioritised. The company has also recently recruited a mobile engineer who will also be based in Scotland to provide service and installations for fleets based in the north.

The company’s team of highly-skilled engineers are based throughout the country to deliver all installations and maintenance of both Sentinel products and those sourced from other companies where service may not be immediately available. The team are available 24/7 to ensure that any services are dealt with rapidly to reduce the downtime of a vehicle or a system so that no vehicle is operating unprotected.
