SIMON KING RETURNS TO BIRDFAIR FOR 2018

03 Jul 2018

This August, wildlife expert Simon King OBE will be back at Birdfair, an annual event for birdwatchers, held every year at Rutland Water in England.

Known as the ‘Glastonbury of birdwatching’, Birdfair, which is celebrating its 30th year this year, is running from 17-19 August and is the event of the year if you’re into birds and wildlife. The annual three-day nature event features talks and hundreds of stalls and brings together nature lovers from 83 countries. This year also sees the launch of its brand new Wild Zone marquee. Last year, Birdfair raised an incredible £333,000 for bird conservation - the second highest total in Birdfair history.

Simon King, invertebrate conservationists Buglife and Wildlife World, designers and manufacturers of award-winning wildlife products and habitats, will be attending the popular event and Simon will be discussing the wildlife he captures through his lens.

Simon King has been filming and photographing wildlife for more than 40 years. In his ‘Then and Now' - 30 years (and a bit) on planet Earth presentation, he will be reflecting on the state of the planet over the past 30 years and some of the amazing events he has witnessed around the world. Simon will discuss the effect that seeing these films and photos can have on our sense of care and affinity for the natural world.

‘Then and Now’ - 30 years (and a bit) on planet Earth with Simon King will take place at Birdfair in the Events Marquee across all three days from 2pm-2.45pm.
